The gallery and education program is available free of charge. Schools and community groups are welcome to visit the gallery and access the educational resources at any time. OUTREACH
The CACSA offers students and teachers the opportunity to learn more about contemporary art online, at the gallery and in-class. Our outreach program for students and teachers has provided schools throughout Adelaide with the unique opportunity to receive multimedia presentations, hosted by the CACSA Education Officer off-site since 2008. These classroom presentations aim to expose students to the breadth of contemporary visual arts practice taking place at a national and international level. Our outreach program has been vastly successful in providing students with the opportunity for self-directed research.

The CACSA outreach program is free and available to Adelaide schools and community groups by arrangement. The 40-50 minute multimedia presentations consist of an introduction to our key exhibitions, artists’ and their artwork, as well as a focus session on various methods of visual analysis and critique of art.

Our outreach program is designed around SACE stage 1 & 2 curricula incentive that aims to develop students’ and teachers’ skills and confidence in independently contextualising contemporary art. This engagement with art and theory practices is an essential part of looking, learning and understanding art today and into the future.
